Anti-Hunger Coalition Timmins (ACT) is a volunteer-driven, charitable organization working to increase food security in Timmins and area.
Good Food Box
Community food distribution program designed to help customers save money. Each Good Food Box contains a variety of veggies and fruits that change each month and includes a bilingual newsletter with nutritional information and recipes.
Large boxes are $20 and small boxes are $12.
Collective Cooking
Provides shared experiences of trying new foods, learning how to prepare healthy and low-cost food items, as well as increasing kitchen skills and food hygiene knowledge.
Community Gardens
Two sites (one in Timmins and one in Porcupine) with small plots that residents can rent for a season and grow their own garden. Open to anyone.
Plot rentals are $25 for your first year and $20 thereafter.
